The Cheetahs and Stormers have already played each other once this season and the Cheetahs surprised the Stormers by making them work for a 16-14 victory at Newlands.

The Cheetahs and the Stormers have played each other 8 times and the Stormers have won 6 and lost 2.

Those six victories have all been in succession and the Stomers are on a six match winning streak against the Cheetahs which stretches back to 2007 when the Cheetahs last won.

That means that the Cheetahs have won just 25% of their matches against the Stormers overall.

On average when the Cheetahs play the Stormers they score 22 points and the Stormers score 25 points.

The match will be played in Bloemfontein which is home ground for the Cheetahs. Surprisingly the Cheetahs have played the Stormers three times in Bloemfontein and they have only one once or 33 % of their matches.

On average when the Cheetahs and Stormers play in Bloemfontein the Cheetahs score 28 points and the Stormers score 27 points.

The Stormers lead the Bulls by four log points as the Capetonians look set to claim the Conference for the second time running.

The Sharks can still make the Top Six but they will have to beat the Bulls in Durban on Friday evening, otherwise they will certainly miss out.

The team from Pretoria will need the win to keep the pressure on the Stormers, but can also ensure home ground advantage in the Qualifiers by finishing fourth on the Combined log.

By the time the Stormers take to the field against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday afternoon, they will know exactly where they stand in terms of the South African Conference.

Last week the Cheetahs showed their never say die attitude by coming back at the Bulls in the last quarter while the Stormers battled to pull away from the Lions.

Last week's Stormers performance was not up to their normal standard but the Stormers have revealed that they had been hit by flu so their dip in form can be put down to that.

The Bookies have given the Cheetahs a 7 point start for this match - with an offer of Bet 5 and Get 50 in Bets. The Stormers know they were below standard last week and should be re-focused this week. The Stormers should win by 5.

This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports website.
