In the last two Super Rugby matches between the Crusaders and the Force both Super Rugby teams have won one and lost one.

The Force have a surprising record against the Crusaders as they have done a lot better than one would expect considering that the Force usually finish in the bottom half of the standings.

The Crusaders have played the Force 6 times and unbelievably for the seven time champions have only beaten the Force three times. That means the Crusaders have won 50% of their matches against the men from Perth.

The Force beat the Crusaders 24-16 in Perth in 2010 and that result is the Force's only victory against the Crusaders but on two occasions the Crusaders and the Force have drawn.

In percentage terms the Crusaders have won 50 % of their matches vs the Force and drawn 33 % of their matches against them. That means the Crusaders have lost 17% of their matches against the Force.

In the two stalemates the Crusaders drew 23-all in 2009 and 23all again in 2006 when they played each other for the first time.

Given the strange history between the teams the average score is also surprising as when the Crusaders play the Force the score is on average Crusaders 31 and the Force 21.

The Crusaders and the Force have played each other twice in Christchurch and the home side has won one and drawn one. On average when the Crusaders play the Force in Christchurch they score 38 points and the Force score 12 points as the Crusaders beat the Force 53-0 in 2007 in the city.

The Force are out of the running for the play offs and are currently 1 team above of Lions who are in last place.

The Crusaders on the other hand are in fourth place but they need to beat the Force to secure a place in the play offs.

The Bookies have given the Force a massive 26 point start for this match - with an offer of Bet 5 and Get 50 in Bets. The Crusaders usually have one upset match a season and this year it was against the Hurricanes. It's highly unlikely they will have another shock result. The Crusaders should win by 21.

This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 3/ HD.

Average score: 31-21
