Sharks coach John Plumtree has named his team to face the Reds in Saturday's Super Rugby Qualifier in Brisbane with Willem Alberts returning to the starting line up.

Alberts came off the bench in last weekend's Super Rugby match against the Cheetahs in Durban but this week gets a start but at lock as the loose-forward trio performed well last week and scored three tries.

Steven Sykes returns from an injury-enforced break to be named on the bench.

Springbok prop Tendai 'Beast' Mtawarira was pulled from the match shortly before kick off (due to gastro) but returns to the starting line up to join Bismarck du Plessis in the front row.

The final two changes are in the backline where Frans Steyn is replaced by Paul Jordaan at outside centre with Tim Whitehead shifting to inside centre.

Steyn was not eligible to play for the Sharks in the play offs as he joined after the cut off.

Louis Ludik replaces Pat Lambie at fullback after the Springbok had a recurrence of the ankle injury he sustained against England in June.
