Stormers captain Jean de Villiers and coach Allister Coetzee have both wished the Sharks well for the Super Rugby final and called for South Africans to back them.
De Villiers and Coetzee were both magnanimous in their praise for the Sharks' surprising performance at Newlands given the amount of travel the team had done.
"The Sharks are on a real roll, on a mission ... if there's a team you won't bet against now it's them," De Villiers told Sport24.
"It will be a fantastic victory for them if they can go on and win it. "
"They've shown that they can overcome the travelling."
De Villiers called for all South Africans to put aside their Super Rugby allegiances and back the Sharks as South Africans in next week's final.
"It's going to be tough to do it but the whole of South Africa should get behind them."
"They've got a great chance," added De Villiers.
Stormers coach Coetzee said that the Sharks were "deserved winners" after they put the home side under pressure, particularly in the first half.
"We wish them well in the final."
