Ryan Tyrrell's return to Super Rugby has been put on hold, with the former Western Force hooker withdrawing from the Rebels 2013 Contracted Playing Squad.
Ryan agreed to terms with the Club earlier this year, but was forced to return home to Perth due to family and personal circumstances.
"I would like to wish the club continued success. I'd also like thank the coaches, players and staff for their support and understanding since arriving to Melbourne."
Rebels Head Coach Damien Hill was disappointed, but respected Tyrrell's decision.
"We were looking forward to Ryan being a Melbourne Rebel this coming season, but due to circumstances out of his control he had to return to home. The Club is fully supportive of him and the decision he has made."
Ryan starred for the Cardiff Blues this season after making his debut for the Force in 2010, before suffering a serious neck injury.
