The 2013 Super Rugby season kicks off on Friday in Melbourne when the Rebels host the Force for the third time in Super Rugby history.

The Rebels have now been around for two years as they joined Super Rugby in 2011 when the Super 14 was expanded to a Super 15.

Even though they are relatively new to Super Rugby the rivalry between the Force and the Rebels is fairly strong and the Rebels finished higher than the Force last year - but not by much.

The Rebels finished the 2102 season in 13th place having won four of their 16 matches and the Force finished in 14th place with three wins out of 16.

For the 2013 Super Rugby season there has not been too much in terms of player movement in Melbourne and probably the biggest name to join is that of Scott Higginbotham.

Over in Perth there have been big changes. Fourteen players including some big names like Nathan Sharpe,Rory Sidey, James Stannard and Cameron Shepherd left the Force and they even have a new coach in Michael Foley.

Both teams will have several new players who are making either their Super Rugby or team debut so their should be no shortage of early nerves.

The Rebels have played the Western Force four times and have won three times or 75% of their matches against the men from Perth.

In Melbourne the teams have played each other twice and both teams have won one match each.

The last two matches have been won by the Rebels and the average score when the teams play each other is 28 all.

The Bookies have given the Rebels an 8 point start for this match - with an offer a free 50 Bet. . We think the Rebels are slightly more settled and they are at home so they should win. Rebels to win by 5.

This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on Sky Sports 4 HD.

Average score: 28-28
