Blues coach John Kirwan says that he has been surprised by the way the Blues have made a perfect start to the new Super Rugby season.
The Blues have played two matches and won both but crucially the Blues have scored four or more tries in both matches to make it a perfect start.
While Kirwan thought the Blues would be an improved outfit compared to last year he admits that he has been surprised by the way their first two matches have gone.
The Crusaders started their first match this season against the Blues at Eden Park and were thumped 34-15 in the match and were outscored by five tries to none.
Kirwan says that they were not expecting such a sensational start.
"If you had of said to Ali and I when we were sitting having a cup of tea talking about him being captain and me being coach three months ago and said you'll be 10 points after your first two games we would have probably felt a million dollars," Kirwan told NewstalkZB.
