Match detail

We are waiting for the kick off.
Dan Carter kicks off and we are underway. The Hurricanes knock on immediately so we have a scrum.
.00: The Crusaders are holding on to the ball and going through the phases in the Hurricanes half. They look more fluid this week but Andy Ellis knocks on so the Hurricanes have a scrum near the 22 line.
.00: Wyatt Crockett goes down in the scrum so the Hurricanes get the first penalty. The Hurricanes kick for touch.
.00: Another penalty to the Hurricanes for a line out infringement. Beauden Barrett will kick for posts. He nails it. The Hurricanes lead.
.00: The Crusaders work the ball into the Hurricanes 22 but as they start to look threatening they lose the ball forward and the Hurricanes kick the ball out.
.00: Robbie Fruean on attack gets put down in a big tackle. He struggles to get up.
.00: Hurricanes working the ball forward. They go through the phases and find several small holes in the Crusaders defence. Smith passes to Taylor but the ball is lost forward. Crusaders looking a little vulnerable in defence so far.
.00: Plenty of dropped balls so far in this match from both sides.
.00: Both teams struggling a bit with the scrum which holds up the game. The Crusaders try a new attacking move but Robbie Fruean gets tackled hard by Conrad Smith. Smith is the one who takes the bigger knock though. The Crusaders move however was shut down instantly.
.00: Penalty again from the Crusaders scrum (Crockett). The Hurricanes kick for touch.
.00: Hurricanes on attack. They kick high and wide for Alapati Leiua but he knocks on.
.00: After four penalties for the Hurricanes the Crusaders win their first penalty for a high tackle. They kick for touch. Crusaders win the line out and attack but Fruean is tackled and loses the ball. The Hurricanes then lose the ball.
.00: Crusaders on attack and Ryan Crotty ducks under a couple of tackles and takes off. He beats a couple more Hurricanes and stumbles over the line for a great individual try. Dan Carter adds the conversion. Thats the first Crusaders try this season!
.00: Crusaders starting to find holes. Johnny McNicholl gets through and passes to Ellis who is caught.
.00: The Crusaders are suddenly full of attack and the Hurricanes defence is looking stretched. Then Perenara finds touch with a kick and gets the Hurricanes deep down field.
.00: Hurricanes are all over the Crusaders in their 22. They have the Crusaders under the pump and the Crusaders concede a penalty so Barrett will kick for posts. He nails the penalty.
.00: Crusaders conceding penalties at a concerning rate. Barrett will line up again. He takes the shot and nails it. The Hurricanes lead.
.00: A short while ago it was the Crusaders in charge but the Hurricanes have the momentum now. Another penalty for the Hurricanes for not coming through the gate at the ruck. Barrett will take another shot. Penalties are now 8-2 for the Canes. Barrett nails the penalty.
.00: Crusaders win a line out and Carter boots the ball well downfield. The Hurricanes work the ball back into the Crusaders half with a brilliant Savea kick and take but a forward pass ends the movement and the half. It's half time.
The half time score was Hurricanes 12 Crusaders 7
The second half is underway.
.00: Dan Coles has gone down in a tackle and is getting some medical help. It looks like an ankle injury. He will come off in his 50th game. Watch out Crusaders as Motu Matu'u has come on as his replacement.
.00: The Crusaders win a penalty in their half so they kick for touch and set up the line out. They win the line out and attack.
.00: The Crusaders get the ball over the 22 line and keep the momentum going. They look dangerous.
.00: After several phases of attack in the Hurricanes 22 the Crusaders put the Hurricanes line under pressure. Corey Flynn snipes and gets the ball over the line. We go upstairs to check if he got it down. The try is awarded after a while.
.00: Dan Carter takes the conversion and slots it. The Crusaders lead again.
.00: Hurricanes get some good attacking field position after the restart as Carter slices a clearance kick.
.00: After a couple of phases the Crusaders turn the ball over and kick it out.
.00: Wow, the Crusaders kick the ball downfield into open space. Israel Dagg shows brilliant football skills kicking the ball soccer style towards the line whilst still outpacing three Hurricanes and then grabs the ball and falls on it to score the Crusaders third try.
.00: Dan Carter nails the conversion.
.00: Wow, Julian Savea gets into space after dodging a Crotty tackle but Dagg is between him and the tryline - he drops the shoulder on Dagg who bounces off like a featherweight against a heavyweight and he scores the Hurricanes first try.
.00: Barrett nails the conversion.
.00: Hurricanes are really back in this now. There is also a concern for the Crusaders as Kieran Read is struggling with a shoulder injury. Savea (and his shoulder) is having a blinder. The Hurricans pick up a loose ball from a line out and attack again. The Crusaders however turn the ball over and kick it out.
.00: The Crusaders snipe again in broken play and they chase the ball and Dan Carter kicks the ball soccer style and pounces on it to score the bonus point try. We go upstairs to check all is above board. The try is awarded. Great work from Carter there but Tom Taylor made the initial break.
.00: Dan Carter nails the conversion. Tom Taylor who has just come on has to come off. Adam Whitelock comes on.

.00 : The Crusaders want this. They are all over the Hurricanes on attack.
.00: 12 phases but then the Crusaders knock on the ball on. Matu'u caused that by launching himself into the tackle. The Hurricanes need a change of hooker before the scrum. Uncontested scrums though.
.00; The Crusaders concede a penalty so they kick the ball out as the siren sounds. The Hurricanes win.
