The Southern Kings vs Highlanders on Saturday puts the fourteenth placed team against the fifteenth placed team.
There is one point difference in the standings between the teams as the Southern Kings have 15 points and the Highlanders have 14 points.
The Southern Kings will start the match in need of some confidence as they have suffered two heavy beatings over the last three weeks at home.
They are in desperate need of a bye as they have lost the momentum gained on their tour of Australia and even the fans are starting to stay away from the stadium which saw sell out crowds earlier in the season.
The opposite is true of the Highlanders as they ended their eight match losing streak this season against the Sharks and are on the up.
Southern Kings fly half Demetri Catrakilis needs seven points to take his season total to 100. If he manages this, he will become the 10th player to reach a century of points in 2013.
Should be make it to 100 on Saturday, Catrakilis will become the first South African in seven years to hit this magic figure in his debut season at Super Rugby level.
The last SA to do this, was Peter Grant for the Stormers in 2006, while Steyn did it for the Bulls in 2005.
The Kings' Director of Rugby, Alan Solomons, said his team has "freshened up" before the Highlanders encounter after last weekend's disappointing defeat to the Waratahs.
"We looked at ways to freshen things up generally," said Solomons.
"With that in mind there have been some changes to the squad. Luke (Watson) comes through and I thought that was one of the big positives of the weekend. He played well and is back to full form and takes his position as captain."
Andries Strauss, who captained the Kings in Watson's absence this season, will play in his 50th Super Rugby match on Saturday.
At the time of writing the Highlanders had not named their team for this weekend but no big surprises are expected.
