Reds Dr Murphy resigns

Queensland Rugby has accepted the resignation of High Performance Manager, Dr Bob Murphy.


Dr Murphy, who joined the company in December 200,5 resigned this week and will finish with the QRU next Friday 5 May 2006.


Following recent structural changes to Queensland Rugby’s High Performance Department, Dr Murphy had been advised that he had an important ongoing role at QRU.


Although only with the QRU for five months, Dr Murphy has made an important contribution to the Reds High Performance Unit.

He successfully managed the process and appointment of incoming coach Eddie Jones to the Reds and has already implemented significant changes to Queensland Rugby’s High Performance operations.


QRU Chairman Peter Lewis thanked Dr Murphy for his contribution and wished him well for the future.
