Rugby Australia have announced that they will appeal Wallabies and Waratahs winger Israel Folau’s one week ban issued by World Rugby.

Folau was last night suspended for one match following a judicial hearing at the Rugby Australia Building in Sydney for foul play in the 3rd Test against Ireland.

The appeal hearing for Israel Folau will be held tonight (Thursday 28 June) at 8pm AEST.

The Appeal Committee will be chaired by Antony Davies (England) alongside Beth Dickens (Scotland) and Olly Kohn (Wales).

All participants will join the hearing via video conference.

Folau was named in the Waratahs starting team to play the Rebels this Friday and if the appeal fails he will not be able to play.
