The 2019 Rugby Championship is a truncated or shortened version of the tournament as it always is in a Rugby world cup year.

The Rugby Championship in 2019 will have just three rounds and starts two weeks after the Super rugby final in Johannesburg South Africa where the Springboks host Australia’s Wallabies.

While there are just three rounds of Rugby Championship rugby there is a fourth weekend of rugby involving the same four nations.

On Saturday 17 August New Zealand and Australia meet for their annual Bledisloe Cup clash while South Africa and Argentina meet as a Rugby World cup warm-up match.
