Stormers Super Rugby and Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth is understood to be in advanced talks with English Club Saracens.

According to reports Etzebeth is likely to leave Cape Town and join Saracens after completing his commitments to the Springboks in November.

Twenty-four-year-old Etzebeth played Super Rugby for the Stormers this season and had a three month spell playing in Japan in the off season.

Sources in South Africa have suggested that a similar deal is on the table with Saracens for the off season this year.

Saracens have recently lost former club captain Alistair Hargreaves who had to retire due to a concussion injury and Etzebeth would be signed as an injury replacement.

If the deal goes ahead Etzebeth would join former Stormers team mates Michael Rhodes and Schalk Burger at Allianz Park.
