The fourth round in Super Rugby kicks off at the Central Energy Trust Arena in Palmerston North where the Hurricanes host the Western Force.

Beauden Barrett kicks off and we are underway.

2.00: The Force win the first scrum of the match. They run the ball but at the breakdown they get isolated and concede a penalty. The Hurricanes kick for touch and the line out.

3.00: The Hurricanes with the line out on the Force’s 22 and they go through the phases on attack. The Force turn the ball over on the 7th phase and kick the ball deep into Canes territory.

5.00: The Hurricanes continue with their counter attack and James Marshall almost gets through to score. The Hurricanes keep the ball alive and pass wide out to Julian Savea but the pass is forward.

8.00: The Hurricanes are moving the ball around freely on attack but the final pass keeps costing them dearly. Marshall is having a lively game. The Hurricanes win a penalty for offside. Barrett signals that he will kick for posts.

9.00: Barrett takes the kick but misses.

11.00: Time in opposition half : 73% Hurricanes 27% Force.

13.00: Penalty to the Force. Peter Grant lines up the posts. He nails it. The Force lead.

16.00: The Force make ground with the ball on attack in the Hurricanes 22. They go through 5 phases and get to the 5m line but the Hurricanes turn the ball over and Barrett kicks for touch.

18.00: Penalty to the Force. Grant lines up in almost the same spot. He misses.

22.00: The Hurricanes continue to make breaks on attack but they can’t quite finish each attack off due to small errors.

25.00: The Hurricanes have a line out on the 5m line. Dane Coles throws the ball in and they pass it back to him as he slices through some weak defence and reaches for the line and scores. The TMO approves the TRY and the Hurricanes lead. The Force were expecting a line out drive but got caught out with Coles going to the front.

26.00: Barrett slots the conversion.

31.00: The Force get the ball back down into the Hurricanes 22. They go through the phases but then the Hurricanes turn the ball over and kick upfield. The Force get an advantage for a high tackle so we go back for a penalty.

32.00: Grant kicks for touch and the line out. They win the line out but the Hurricanes turn the ball over.

35.00: The Hurricanes work the ball into the Force’s 22. After 6 phases they cross the 5m line but then concede a penalty to the Force. The Hurricanes lack the edge that got them to the final last year.

36.00: The Force kick for touch and win the line out. They kick upfield and the ball goes to Julian Savea who knock it on.

39.00: The Hurricanes win a penalty. Perenara takes the quick tap and the Canes win another penalty. Barrett takes the kick for posts and nails it extending the lead.

The siren sounds for half time. We have the kick off but the ball goes dead so it is half time.

Peter Grant kicks off and the second half is underway.

42.00: The Force push the Hurricanes back into their 22 and they win a penalty. Grant lines up the posts and nails the kick.

44.00: Vaea Fifita races down the wing and looks like he will score but Dane Haylett-Petty flies in and tackles him into touch saving a try.

48.00: The Hurricanes have a scrum in the Force’s 22 but the Force win the scrum and clear the ball into touch. The Hurricanes win the line out and start going through the phases on attack pressing the Force back.

50.00: Attendance is 8268 for this match. Victor Vito has been replaced by the Hurricanes and replaced by Callum Gibbins.

51.00: The Force win a scrum in their half and kick for touch.

56.00; The Hurricanes go through the phases on attack and they stretch the Force’s defence out wide, James Marshall cuts back in and scores. TRY!

58.00: Barrett takes the conversion kick but curls it across the face of the posts.

63.00: The Hurricanes go on the attack again. Willis Halaholo creates the break and the Canes get the ball to the line, Perenara grabs a loose ball and reaches for the line and scores. TRY.

64.00: Barrett adds the conversion. As it stands the Hurricanes have the bonus point.

67.00:  Halaholo makes another break with a dummy and the Hurricanes pass the ball through the hands and Blade Thomson scores.

69.00: Beauden Barrett adds the conversion.

72.00: The floodgates have really opened. The Hurricanes attack out wide again and this time Ngani Laumape goes over to score in the corner. The TMO confirms. Laumape looks to have injured himself in the try but he carries on.

73.00: Barrett misses the conversion from near the touchline.

76.00: The Hurricanes try the grubber kick through in the Force’s 22. Nothing comes of it but the Hurricanes have an advantage so they are called back for a penalty. They choose the line out.

78.00: The Hurricanes win the line out and drive over the line. Ardie Savea looks to be the tryscorer.

79.00: Barrett adds the conversion.

80.00: The siren sounds and Barrett kicks the ball into touch. The Hurricanes have won.
