Sharks coach Dick Muir has made only one change to his team to face the Waratahs in a Round Two Super 14 match in Durban on Friday.

In the only change to the starting XV that beat the Bulls last week Adrian Jacobs comes in for Waylon Murray at outside centre. Murray drops down to the bench.

It is an intriguing change, with Jacobs’ smaller frame and allround guile being preferred to the bulk of Murray.

Murray stands at 1,9m and weighs in at 105kg, almost 15lg heavier than the 1,79m frame of Jacobs.

But Muir has faith in the smaller player’s creative abilities.

There is also a change to the bench, with Cedric Mkhize coming into the match-day 22 at the expense of Keegan Daniel.

Muir has opted for a four forwards, three backs replacement bench – after using the five forwards, two backs split against the bulkier Bulls pack last week.

With the rest of the squad unchanged, it means Francois Steyn again starts on the wing – a position Muir said he won’t play in too often. However, the coach obviously wasn’t prepared to change his winning combination too much.

Sharks: 15 Percy Montgomery, 14 Francois Steyn, 13 Adrian Jacobs, 12 Bradley Barritt, 11 JP Pietersen, 10 Butch James, 9 Ruan Pienaar, 8 Ryan Kankowski, 7 AJ Venter, 6 Jacques Botes, 5 Johann Muller, 4 Steven Sykes, 3 BJ Botha, 2 John Smit (c), 1 Deon Carstens
