The Sharks who have an awful Super 14 draw will start the Super 14 season with two highly rated flyhalves. Butch James and Tony Brown are both fit and in their squad. They will also have AJ Venter back.

The bad news for the Sharks is that it is looking unlikely that Bok captain John Smit will be back soon after his suspension as he has undergone a stomach operation and will be sidelined for some time.

They will start their season with two warm up matches against the Bulls at Sun City on the 28th of January. They will then play another warm up match on Wednesday the 1st of February against the Cats in Rustenburg.
