The Sunwolves have played the Reds just three times in Super rugby since the Japanese side joined Super rugby in 2016 and the Sunwolves have won one and lost two.

2.00: The Sunwolves make a strong start to the match and run the ball into the Reds 2 where the ball is taken into touch.

3.00: The Sunwolves win the line out but the Reds turn the ball over and the ball is kicked into touch.

5.00: The Reds win the line out but get pressed backwards. The Sunwolves infringe and concede a penalty. The Reds take the line out option.

8.00: The Sunwolves work the ball down the field to the Reds tryline but the Reds turn the ball over and kick it into touch.

12.00: The Sunwolves break out from their own half and a ruck. The Reds slip off one tackle which allows the Sunwolves to get over the gain line and the ball is passed down the line and then back to Jamie Booth who scores. TRY!

13.00: Hayden Parker slots the conversion.

17.00: The Reds get a driving maul rolling forward and they drive over the line and as they get over Liam Wright drops to the ground and scores. TRY!

18.00: The conversion shot is missed.

22.00: The Sunwolves use the cut out pass from just outside the Reds 22 and they get quick ball which allows Rahboni Warren Vosayaco to slip over and score. TRY! 

24.00: Hayden Parker adds the conversion.

28.00: The Sunwolves kick for touch and set up a line out in the Reds 22. They win the line out and work the ball to the 5m line. The Reds defend and turn the ball over. The ball goes into touch.

30.00: The Sunwolves win their line out and attack the Reds in their 22. They get to the corner where Gerhard van den Heever reaches for the line but slips a foot into touch as he puts the ball down.

32.00 The Reds win the line out but the Sunwolves are all over them and the Reds have to run the ball out. On the 5m line the ruck forms and the Sunwolves concede a penalty. The Reds take the line out option. The Reds win the line out and kick for touch again.

34.00: The Sunwolves chip and chase the ball. The ball is regained and the support comes. The forwards press forward and Pauliasi Manu drives over. The TMO is called on to check if he scored. It looked short. The TMO confirms it is short. Sunwolves 5m scrum.

35.00: The Sunwolves win the scrum and the Reds defend well. The Reds press the Sunwolves back out of their 22. The Sunwolves reform their attack and Dan Pryor offloads to Hosea Saumaki who makes some ground. The ball comes back to Pryor who scores. TRY!

37.00: Parker adds the conversion.

40.00: The siren sounds. Pauliasi Manu is down so the match is paused. Manu caught his chin on Ben Gunter’s shouder in a tackle and went straight down. When the match resumes there will be a scrum. Manu is carried off the field – gives the thumbs up as he goes off.

41.00: The match resumes with a scrum. The Sunwolves win the scrum but the ball is taken into touch.

It’s half time.

The Reds kick off and the second half is underway.

43.00 : The Reds win a penalty from the scrum. They kick for touch and take the line out option.

45.00: The Reds win another penalty after setting up a maul. Amanaki Mafi who has just come on conceded the penalty.

The Reds take the line out, which they win and then set up a maul. The Reds drive to the line. They are stopped but then move to the side and go again. Kerevi goes over but is held up. Reds 5m scrum.

47.00: The scrum has to be reset a couple of times. The scrum then completes and the Reds attack on the Sunwolves 5m line. The ball goes from side to side but the Sunwolves hold them out.

49.00: The Sunwolves hold off attack after attack from the Reds in their 22. They get the reward for their effort as they kill off the attack and then get the scrum put in when the ball is lost forward.

53.00: Hamish Stewart enjoys a strong run for the Reds but is stopped by the Sunwolves.

54.00: Penalty from the scrum to the Reds. The Reds kick for touch and take the line out. The win the line out and run the ball.

56.00: The Reds earn yet another scrum penalty. They kick for touch again. This time the line out is on the Sunwolves 22m line.

58.00; The Reds win the line out and attack the Sunwolves on their 5m line. The Reds have a couple of goes at the line and then Brandon Paenga-Amosa reaches for the line and scores. TRY!

59.00: Hamish Stewart slots the conversion.

61.00: The Reds go through the phases and make steady progress as they go. Samu Kerevi offloads to Harry Hoopert who dives in to score under the posts. TRY!

62.00: Parker slots the conversion and the Sunwolves lead has been cut to two points.

63.00: It’s all the Reds. They attack the Sunwolves line again and Brandon Paenga-Amosa drives over to score again. TRY!

64.00: Stewart takes the conversion. He nails it. The Reds lead.

68.00: The Sunwolves hit back. They keep the ball close and work it into the Reds 22. The Sunwolves go for the line and Keisuke Uchida dives over and scores. TRY! The scores are level. 

70.00: Hayden Parker takes the conversion. He nails it. Sunwolves lead.

72.00: Penalty to the Sunwolves. Parker lines up the posts. He nails it and extends the lead to five points.

The Reds get the ball down into the Sunwolves 22. The Sunwolves try to clear the ball but it is charged down and Tate McDermott scores. TRY!

76.00: Hamish Stewart takes the conversion kick for the lead. He misses.

78.00: Penalty to the Reds!! Stewart slots the penalty and the Reds lead.

80.00: The Reds boot the ball into touch as the siren sounds and win the match.
