Next years Super 14 newcomers will play this years Super 14 newcomers on Saturday in Port Elizabeth in a pre-Super 14 warm up match. The Coach Pieter de Villiers told the South African website Keo.co.za, “Things are not too bad. We’re a very new side, a young inexperienced side, but we’re very passionate and working hard.

“It will take us six months to get everything into place. A lot of things still need attention, Tony McKeever is still very new at running a union and he needs some time to settle.

“To be honest, until we find a big sponsor, the structures both on and off the field will be inadequate.”

The Spears have won a sponsorship of R15 million, by the Australian manufacturer, International Sports Clothing, (ISC) but the Union is new and it would appear that they are understandably struggling to find their feet.
