French Rugby Club Toulon have set their sights on Japan and Reds back Ayumu Goromaru and have already tabled an offer.
French media reported on Sunday that the Reds new star signing had signed a two year deal with Toulon which would see him move fto France after the Super Rugby season.
Sources in Japan say that Goromaru, who scored his first points for the Queensland franchise on Saturday in a trial match, has received – but not accepted an offer from Toulon.
Goromaru played in the final quarter of the Reds loss to the Brumbies but converted a try after the full time siren.
The twenty-nine-year-old has yet to comment officially on the offer while his Top League club, Yamaha Jubilo have denied any knowledge of the offer.
Goromaru’s Reds team begin their 2016 Super Rugby campaign Feb. 27 against the Waratahs in Sydney.
