    At the beginning of the SuperXV the Canes were thought to be the wooden spooners of the NZ sides. They are a mostly a young team of no-names with a sprinkling of All Blacks in a rebuild phase. They may well finish last in the NZ conference this year but glimpses suggest that an emerging brand of Hurricane style rugby is not too far in the distant future. Hammett and Co have got it right
