Former Ireland and Lions captain Brian O’Driscoll could miss the Autumn Internationals after the centre picked up a knee injury in Leinster’s smashing of Wasps on Saturday night’s Heineken Cup.

O’Driscoll had been expected to be re-appointed as Ireland captain under new coach Declan Kidney.

The 28-year-old will undergo a scan on Monday to ascertain the extent of the knee injury which forced him from the field.

O’Driscoll missed the second half of the match but watched on from the stands.

Ireland coach Kidney is set to name his squad for the November Tests on Wednesday.
