England fans have voted newcomer Delon Armitage as England’s undisputed 2008 Investec Challenge Man of the Series.

The London Irish full back was a clear favourite, bagging 83% of the votes in the survey conducted by the England Rugby Supporters Club and sponsor Investec.

Second was Harlequins No 8 Nick Easter (6%), with third place going to London Wasps flanker Tom Rees, the choice of 5% of fans.

Said Armitage, “I was delighted to make my debut for England last month and it is very pleasing that so many people thought I played well.

“This endorsement from the England supporters themselves and Investec is a real bonus and is one that I very much appreciate.”

Said Jennifer Whiteford, Head of Branding at Investec, “We are very pleased that Delon has been voted the 2008 Investec Challenge England Man of the Series.

“Being voted the most significant player in his debut England matches shows the potential that Delon has and we look forward to seeing him in the future.”
