The New Zealand 2019 Super Rugby squads have been confirmed

Following the conclusion of the Sharks and Jaguares Round 19 match which is the final match of the 2018 regular season, the teams have now been finalised for the playoffs.

The Sharks victory over the Jaguares moved them into the eighth and final playoff place and pushed the Rebels out of the playoff places.

The Crusaders finished the regular season in first place with 63 points while the Lions finished second with 46 points.

The Waratahs finished in third place overall with 44 points and are the only Australian team in the Super Rugby playoffs.

The Hurricanes finished with 51 points which makes them the best wildcard team based on tournament points regardless of conference.

The top four teams will all play home matches next weekend against the four next best wildcard teams (based on tournament points) regardless of conference.

Finals Matches – Tiebreaking Criteria:

If the teams are tied at full time in any finals series match then the following will apply until a winner is found:

Extra Time: played in two 10 minute periods with a two-minute halftime
Sudden Death: played for up to 10 minutes with the first team to score declared the winner
Kicking Competition: If no result comes from the sudden death period a goal kicking competition will decide the winner
