Following the conclusion of the four 2018 Super Rugby quarter-finals, the four teams that will contest the semi-finals have been decided.
The Hurricanes hosted the Chiefs in Wellington, the Crusaders hosted the Sharks in Christchurch, the Waratahs hosted the Highlanders in Sydney and the Lions hosted the Jaguares in the final match which was played in Johannesburg.
The Hurricanes, Crusaders, Waratahs and Lions all had home advantage in their Super Rugby quarter-finals as a result of their ranking at the end of the regular season.
All of the teams that played at home won their matches and will now progress to the Super Rugby semi-finals.
Eight teams went into the quarter-finals with rankings determined from where they finished at the end of the regular season.

Note: Should the Hurricanes beat the Crusaders the Super Rugby final will be hosted by the winner of the Lions v Waratahs match.
Finals Matches – Tie-breaking Criteria:
If the teams are tied at full time in any finals series match then the following will apply until a winner is found:
Extra Time: played in two 10 minute periods with a two-minute halftime
Sudden Death: played for up to 10 minutes with the first team to score declared the winner
Kicking Competition: If no result comes from the sudden death period a goal kicking competition will decide the winner
