Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 the Springboks were unable to participate in The Rugby Championship that was set to be hosted in Australia. In its place the Australian Rugby Union and SANZAAR have arranged a Tri-Nations tournament between Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.
