Scotland A will be without star backs Robbie Kydd and Rory Lamont for their final match in the Churchill Cup at Twickenham on Saturday.

Centre Kydd (Northampton Saints) and full-back Lamont (Glasgow Warriors) were both ruled out after medical assessments took place on Wednesday.

Kydd suffered damage to his right shoulder and Lamont mild concussion during Monday’s loss to England Saxons.

There was better news from the medics on flankers Donnie Macfadyen and Alasdair Strokosch. Both were said to be recovering from hand and leg injuries respectively and will be available for selection for Saturday’s game.

The team for that match will be announced on Thursday. Scotland A will face the losers of Tuesday’s match between New Zealand Maori and Ireland A.
