After scoring four tries in the past two Tests for the Springboks, winger Bryan Habana is closing in on Danie Gerber’s try-scoring ratio, of tries scored per game.

Gerber, in scoring 19 tries in 24 Tests, averaged 0,79 tries per game for the Springboks, whilst Habana’s record is 21 tries out of 27.

The two doubles for Habana sees him return to the manner in which he begun for the Springboks, after a lean 12-Test patch during 2006 and 2005 that saw him bag two tries out 12 Tests.

If Habana scores another double in his next outing, he’ll overtake the legendary outside centre.

Habana is, meanwhile, in doubt for the home leg of the Tri-Nations, as he is nursing a knee injury.

Meanwhile, here are some of records broken during the last Test, which the Springboks won by 55-22.
