It is understood that talks between the ambitious region and Holah have already taken place with regards to a move after the Rugby World Cup.
With 36 caps to his name already Holah is a vastly experienced player and would further under line the Ospreys ambition to become one of the leading clubs in Europe.
It is the second time the two parties have held talks, with the Ospreys previously attempting to lure the Junior All Blacks captain to the Liberty Stadium when their move for Jonno Gibbs fell through.
Holah was the 999th player to represent New Zealand when he made his debut against Samoa at Albany in 2001.
It is widely accepted that were it not for a certain Richie McCaw then Holah would have easily added to his cap tally.
With Wales internationals Mike Phillips and Ian Gough having already joined the Ospreys, Holah’s arrival would complete a very successful recruitment period this summer.
