Larkham denies Toulouse link

Australian fly half Stephen Larkham is still set to join Magners League side Edinburgh, despite recent speculation he was going to Toulouse.

Larkham agreed the move to Edinburgh in May, but due to the on going saga between the Edinburgh owners and the Scottish Rugby Union it was unclear if Larkham would indeed join the troubled club.

Whilst Larkham is not 100 per cent certain of his future at Edinburgh he has clarified he will not be joining Toulouse.

“I’m not sure what the situation is with Edinburgh at the moment,” he told BBC Sport.

“But we’ve worked very hard in terms of establishing our family in Edinburgh. That was a big challenge for us.

“I’m still not in talks with Toulouse or with any other team at the moment.”

The fact the French transfer window has now closed will put pay to the rumours of a move to France.

However reports suggest that the SRU are unwilling or even unable to fund the signing of such a player.

All of which has left Larkham feeling a little insecure and unwilling to comment much about the situation.

“We are still waiting to hear from Edinburgh, so I’m still in contact with Edinburgh,” he said.
