Bulls scrumhalf Heini Adams, after getting a rare chance to start in the Super 14 because of captain Fourie du Preez’s injury-induced absence, will be out of action for one to two weeks following an injury after only 13 minutes of the match against the Highlanders at Loftus.

Adams received a hard knock on his tibia in the 13th minute of the match.

It is on the exact spot where he fractured his tibia in 2007 which kept him off the field until the start of this season.

However, no damage was done to the bone and the latest setback is nothing more than a soft tissue injury.

“Heini will in all probability be back on the field in a week or so and we will monitor his rehabilitation throughout the week, said team doctor Tommy Smook Monday.

The Bulls have a bye this weekend after ten weeks of intense pressure -on the field and also off it because of their poor performances in the Super 14 – and the players have been given a few days break.

Except for Adams there are no other injuries in the camp. and the team will be at full strength when they meet in a week’s time.
