With only two months to go until the start of the 2007 Super 14 rugby season, sports manufacturer Adidas has launched its new jersey range for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Adidas have said that 18 months worth of research went into the jerseys with extensive sampling and testing and what they came up with was a “revolutionary design, constructed to move naturally with players’ bodies”.

New Zealand managing director of Adidas, Greig Bramwell, said with an increasing number of games being held over the summer months, a lighter, more breathable jersey was required.

Fabric weight of the jerseys had been reduced by 25 percent and mesh content has been increased, resulting in a more comfortable jersey for players in the heat of the summer months.

“While we have reduced the weight of the fabric, the jerseys are made from an extremely durable performance polyester climacool fabric, to endure the rigours of a rugby match.”

The jerseys can now be viewed online at the Super14 shop.
