Rugged young openside flanker Beau Robinson will go head to head with Reds tyro David Croft in the 287th meeting between Australia’s oldest Rugby provinces.

HSBC Waratahs head coach Ewen McKenzie has elevated the twenty-year-old to start against the Reds in a do-or-die clash with Queensland at Aussie Stadium on Saturday night.

‘We’ve got one eye on the future with Beau but we need his aggression and passion for defence from the start of the match,’ said McKenzie.

‘This is a big game for us and a big game for them. It will be trench warfare at times but both teams will be having a crack.’

Tim Davidson drops out of the twenty-two with Wycliff Palu returning from injury on the bench.

‘We’ve really missed Cliffy and to have him back for such an important match is a tremendous boost,’ McKenzie added.

There’s been a change in the centres too with Sam Harris moving to the bench and Ben Jacobs starting at outside centre with vice-captain Morgan Turinui sliding back to inside centre.
