Chiefs prop Ben May has been suspended for three weeks following a SANZAR judicial committee hearing held this morning in Durban.

May received a red card in the Chiefs v Lions match at the weekend.

He was found guilty under section 10.4 of the IRB handbook. The judicial committee found that May was careless where he placed his foot and that the incident was at the lower end of the scale.

The judgement took into account that there was no malice, no intent to cause harm and May’s unblemished record at first class rugby.

May will be leaving South Africa within the next day or so.
