The Cheetahs will be looking forward to getting this match behind them as they have a bye next week and it is the last match on their tour.

Match detail

We are waiting for the kick off.

The Cheetahs kick off and we are underway.

1.00: The Cheetahs put the Blues under some early pressure but the Blues turn the ball over and kick upfield and then Willie le Roux kicks the ball out.

2.00: The Blues knock on after the line out so the Cheetahs have a scrum on the half way line.

4.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs. Johan Goosen takes the penalty kick and slots it. The Cheetahs lead.

7.00: A Cheetahs player tackles Liaki Moli by running into his feet and is penalised for not using arms in the tackle. The Blues get a penalty so Simon Hickey takes the shot and levels the scores.

8.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs for offside. Johan Goosen takes the shot and puts the Cheetahs into the lead again.

10.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs as a Blues player tackled a Cheetahs player in the air from the restart. Simon Hickey takes the kick and levels the scores.

11.00: The Cheetahs are in front of the kicker at the restart so we have a scrum on the half way line. Referee Francisco Pastrana is blowing the match to the absolute letter of the law.

12.00: The Blues win the scrum and run the ball. At the breakdown the Blues knock on.

13.00: The Cheetahs win the scrum and run the ball and then kick ahead and the Blues knock on. Water break.

15.00: The Blues work the ball up to the Cheetahs 5m line. They send a couple of attacks for the line. On about the third go for the line Steven Luatua drives over and scores the first TRY!

16.00: Hickey slots the conversion from in front.

18.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs on the Blues 5m line. They kick for touch and the line out.

20.00: The Cheetahs win the line out but they can’t score in the corner and we go back for another penalty.

21.00: The Cheetahs go for the line out and drive the maul over and Boom Prinsloo scores. TRY! Goosen takes the conversion and nails it.

25.00: The Blues put the Cheetahs under pressure at the line. The Blues win a penalty and Boom Prinsloo has been yellow carded for a professional foul – offside (harsh)

26.00: The Blues choose a 5m scrum. It has to reset. They go again and the Blues go for the line again but knock on.

28.00: After the scrums battle to complete the Blues decide to kick for posts with a penalty. Hickey slots it and the Blues lead.

29.00; The Blues get the ball from the restart and they drive to the line. They go over and we go to the TMO to check. Pastrana over rules the TMO on double movement and the TRY is awarded to George Moala. There will be more on this one.

30.00: Simon Hickey slots the conversion.

31.00: The Blues get the ball in broken play and chip ahead. Willie le Roux fumbles the ball and Tevita Li gets the ball and scores. TRY! Shocker by Willie le Roux.

32.00: Hickey slots the conversion from almost the touchline.

35.00: The teams are battling with the scrum and the referee. Boom Prinsloo comes back on for the Cheetahs. The Blues scored 17 points in his absence. Penalty to the Cheetahs just inside the Blues half. They kick for touch.  

38.00; The Cheetahs win the line out and attack the Blues in their 22. The Blues turn the ball over and try to kick but it is charged down and rolls out. We go back for a knock on.

39.00: The Blues win the scrum and run the ball on their 5m line. Eventually they pass the ball back to Hickey who clears.

40.00: The Cheetahs win their line out and attack as the siren sounds. The Cheetahs win another penalty. They will kick for posts.

41.00: Elgar Watts will take the shot. He slots it.

It’s half time.

The half time score was Blues 30 Cheetahs 16

The Blues kick off and we are underway.

41.00: Both teams enjoy some early runs the but the Cheetahs take the ball out.

42.00: Penalty to the Cheetahs. They choose the line out. They win the line out and then knock on. Handling errors are costing the Cheetahs.

44.00: Jean Cook has been replaced by  Lappies Labuschagne.

45.00:Penalty to the Blues. Hickey lines up the kick.  Ma’a Nonu is about to come on. Hickey misses the kick.

48.00: The Cheetahs have the ball and get it into the Blues 22. Moala stops what looks to be a certain try and then the Cheetahs go again. They can’t get over so we go back for a penalty – holding on.

49.00 ;The Cheetahs choose the line out. They get the maul going. It collapses. The Cheetahs continue to attack the Blues line.

50.00: Another penalty to the Cheetahs. They kick for the corner. The Cheetahs use the maul again. They drive to the line. They go over and we go back for a 5m scrum.  

52.00: Penalty to the Blues for an early shove. Hickey clears the ball.

53.00:Jerome Kaino and Ma’a Nonu come on for the Blues.

55.00: The Cheetahs are starting to play (run) more with the ball now. The Blues have a free kick and Hickey kicks for touch.

57.00: The Cheetahs spin the ball down the line but they pass the ball forward. The Blues have a scrum.

58.00: Injury break for Boom Prinsloo.

59.00: Wow, the Cheetahs win a scrum and they pass the ball to Cornal Hendricks  on the inside and he catches the Blues wrongfooted and races in to score. TRY!

60.00: Watts slots the conversion.

62.00: The Blues have come to life after realising they could lose and that they need the bonus point. The Blues work the ball into the Cheetahs 22. They win a penalty and choose a scrum.

63.00: The Blues win the scrum and charge for the line. Tony Woodcock goes over and scores the Bonus Point TRY!.

65.00:Simon Hickey slots the conversion.

67.00: The Cheetahs are playing better than they have done all game. They move the ball down the line and split the Blues and this time Hennie Daniller scores. TRY “

68.00: Watts adds the conversion.

70.00: Penalty to the Blues. Hickey lines up the shot and nails it. Blues lead by 10.

74.00: Hayden Triggs comes on for Liaki Moli.

76.00: The Cheetahs set up a line out in the Blues 22. They win the line out and almost get through but put the Blues under real pressure until they knock on.

78.00: The Cheetahs win the scrum but then they concede a penalty. The Blues clear.

80.00: The Blues work the ball upfield and then as the siren sounds the Cheetahs win a penalty. The Cheetahs take it quickly.

81.00: The ball hits the ref and that is it. The Blues win.
