The Blues will be looking to bounce back from last week’s Shark bite against the Cheetahs who have never won in New Zealand or Australia since the Super 14 began.

3.00: The Blues get an almost perfect start as the Cheetahs defence slips and allows Anthony Tuitavake to run in a try half way between the flag and the posts.


4.00: Jimmy Gopperth slots the conversion to put the Blues comfortably in front.


6.00: The Cheetahs day just gets worse as Wayne van Heerden is sent to the bin for 10 minutes.


8.00; Jimmy Gopperth slots the resulting penalty to  put the Blues 10 points ahead.


10.00;Anthony Tuitavake  puts in a thumping tackle on a Cheetahs player which thrills the crowd.


11.00: Keven Mealamu’s second lineout goes wrong – skew.


15.00: The Blues score a sniping try off the back of a scrum as Chris Lowrey scores the Blues second try. Oooh this could get ugly for the Cheetahs.


15.00: Jimmy Gopperth slots the conversion.


17.00: Wayne van Heerden comes back on for the Cheetahs.


18.00: Danwel Demas puts in a high kick on attack but the ball goes backwards which sums the day up so far for the Cheetahs.


21.00: Isaia Toeava makes a break down the line but as he gets to the line he is tackled and the pass to Rene Ranger goes to ground.


25.00: Slightly better play from the Cheetahs but the Blues still look dangerous and in charge. Hendro Scholtz gets some medical attention on the field.


27.00: Ali Williams gets an intercept pass and runs as fast as he can down the line put gets caught and puts a foot in touch.


29.00: Toeava kicks for touch but doesn’t find it. This allows the Cheetahs to counterattack but it comes to nothing.


31.00: The Cheetahs lose their tighthead – Bees Roux is helped from the field with a leg injury.  Kobus Calldo comes on as replacement. Hooker Adriaan Strauss is also struggling.


33.00: Adriann Strauss goes off for the Cheetahs and is replaced by Richardt Strauss which means two of their front row has been changed already.


37.00: The Cheetahs finally get some reward for their efforts as Corne Uys gets the ball at pace and scores next to the posts.


38.00: Jacques-Louis Potgieter slots the conversion and the Cheetahs have 7 points.


40.00: The Cheetahs get blown up for offside.


40:45: The siren goes for half time.


41.00: Jimmy Gopperth takes the kick for the offside offence and the ball just gets there to add three points.

The second half is underway.


41.00: The Blues get an even better start to the second half than they did at the start of the match as they put in two quick passes which allows Isaia Toeava to break through for the Blues and he scores under the posts.


42.00: Jimmy Gopperth slots the conversion.


42.00: Rene Ranger has a sniping run down the line, he runs to the middle and passes to Ali Williams, the tackle goes in and the Blues support pushes over the line but they are held up.


The game is held up by an injury to Kobus Calldo. If he goes off then it will be uncontested scrums. – Tewis de Bruyn comes off as he we learn that it will be uncontested scrums from now. Kabamba Floors comes on.


44.00: The scrum goes down and Taniela Moa fires off the back and scores the Blues bonus point try.


44.00:Jimmy Gopperth misses the conversion. That’s two tries in four minutes.


45.00: Michael Hobbs gives the Cheetahs a penalty for a no arms tackle – they go for the lineout. They win the ball and run it, It’s fast ball and good running as Sarel Pretorius goes over in the corner. His elbow is however out as the TV replay shows.


50.00:  Kurtis Haiu gets sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes after he puts in a high and somewhat dangerous tackle.


55.00: The Blues continue to attack but the pressure is a little off now that they have secured the bonus point.


59.00: The Cheetahs use the numbers and run the ball at pace as Fabian Juries puts in a chip kick up – they get three players through and the ball is behind the line and Juries slaps the ball down. The tv replay decision is that the he knocked the ball on in goal.


62.00: The Blues start to look hungry again and they have a crack down the line but the pass goes forward and out for Joe Rokocoko.


63.00: Corne Uys is denied a try after a moment of confusion and a knock forward.


64.00: Taniela Moa gets an intercept pass and beats a couple. He chips ahead but Danwel Demas gets back. The ball changes sides and then its the Blues who make the mistake with the ball.


69.00:  Jamie Helleur breaks and ducks through three Cheetahs tackles and scores the Blues fifth try under the posts from a line out. 


69.00: Jimmy Gopperth slotted the conversion.  


71.00: Danwel Demas shows a great display of pace beating Onosa’i Auva’a who races after the ball towards an open try line. Demas wins the race and the try is saved.


73.00: Its a hammering. Chris Smylie picks up the ball after the Cheetahs fumble the ball and he runs in the Cheetahs sixth try.


74.00: Jimmy Gopperth kicks the conversion.


78.00: Sarel Pretorius has another go at the line but the TV replay shows that as he crosses the line he loses the ball forward.


79.00: The Cheetahs refuse to give up and have a couple of goes at the line. Eevntually they swing it wide and Kabamba Floors goes over for the Cheetahs second try.


80.00: Jacques-Louis Potgieter misses the conversion and the whistle goes for full time.
