The Blues are reportedly in contract negotiations with Argentinian playmaker Juan Martin Hernandez.

French Newspaper Midi Olympique has reported that the twenty-nine-year-old has been approached by the Blues.

However a spokesperson for the Blues has told Stuff that they know nothing about the talks.

The Blues have Gareth Anscombe and Michael Hobbs as their first five-eighths for the 2012 Super Rugby season.

Hernandez shot to fame in the 2007 Rugby World Cup when Argentina finished in a very respectable third place.

He currently plays his game in France and has earned 32 caps for Argentina, who will take part in this year’s new Rugby Championship for the first time.

The Pumas star missed last year’s Rugby World Cup due to a knee injury.

Hernandez is said to have other offers on the table from his current club Racing Metro as well as one from his former club Stade Francais.
