Blues name 2009 Super14 Squad

The 2009 Blues Super 14 squad was released by Head Coach Pat Lam in style at Skycity this morning.


Lam, flanked by assistant coaches Shane Howarth and Mike Casey, said he is pleased to have 17 players back from the 2008 season, plus some exciting newcomers to the Blues franchise.


Josh Blackie, Tasesa Lavea, Jimmy Gopperth and Paul Williams are seasoned campaigners who will be invaluable in leadership roles, while fresh new talents like Rene Ranger, Tevita Mailau, Charlie Faumuina, Michael Hobbs and Chris Lowrey will bring enthusiasm and real pride in being professional rugby players.
