5.00: Another attack ends with Ma’a Nonu, looking up and seeing the space behind the wing and fullback, and kicking a beautiful kick into the corner.

6.00: Thomas Perenara clears to his 22.

7.00: Beauden Barrett tackles Nonu and dislodges the ball, winning possession for a knock on.

9.00: Oh dear! The Blues were down on numbers, a four-three split on the blindside from the scrum, and Jordie Barrett gets tackled by Thomas Faiane, and loses the ball forward, gifting the home team an attacking scrum inside the Hurricanes’ 22.

10.00: TRY! Patrick Tuipulotu runs over Beauden Barrett and bursts towards the line. He is eventually brought down by Isaia Walker-Leawere, but not before he can get an offload to Sam Nock, who scores under the posts. 5-0

11.00: CONVERSION! Harry Plummer adds the extras. 7-0

12.00: Another dropped high-ball by Jordie Barrett gifts possession of the football to their hosts.

13.00: Parsons’ throw is not straight. It’s a let-off for the visitors. Both sides have lost a lineout.

14.00: Reed Prinsep knocks on, now. There are a few errors in this derby which is slowing things down.

17.00: The Blues go 12 phases but they cannot make the penalty advantage count. Asafo Aumua did not release. Plummer goes to the corner. Blake Gibson and Nonu both went close before the attack broke down.

18.00: NO TRY! The Blues drive over with a powerful maul, it was desperate defence from the visitors, but they manage to hold up the opposition. Attacking 5m scrum to the Blues.

20.00: Ardie Savea wins the penalty at the resulting ruck off the back of the scrum. Barrett can clear.

23.00: TRY! Ngani Laumape wins the turnover at the breakdown after a strong Rieko Iaone run, he breaks blind and pops to Ben Lam, who with his first touch of the game, cuts inside Gibson, Plummer and Melani Nanai and races away to score. 7-5

24.00: CONVERSION! Beauden Barrett levels. 7-all

27.00: It’s end-to-end in Auckland, both sides attacking freely.

28.00: The Hurricanes win the penalty, Barrett kicks to the corner.

32.00: TRY! Jordie Score! It’s Barrett to Barrett. Savea takes the ball up, the Hurricanes recycle quickly, and Beauden delivers a beauty brother Jordie, who glides through a gap. 7-12

33.00: CONVERSION! Beauden coverts Jordie’s score. 7-14

35.00: The Blues need to regroup or this game will get away from them.

36.00: Plummer has left the field, Otere Black is on, and he kicks a penalty into the opposition’s 22.

38.00: Savea breaks off the back of the scrum, Barrett bangs the ball down the field. The Blues come back, they are building through the phases before Karl Tu’inukuafe drops the ball in contact. The error is compounded by a penalty.

40.00: Great work at the breakdown from Dalton Papalii, winning the defensive penalty. Black kicks to the Hurricanes’ 10m. One last attack before halftime.

42.00: Walker-Leawere strays offside. Black launches to the corner for a 5m lineout. Josh Goodhue fails an HIA, and will not return.

44.00: Superb defending by the visitors, they hold off the Blues with some staunch goal-line defending.

44.00: Since moving back to fullback, Jordie Barrett has been superb. His defence has been the most eye-catching. He has made a few handling errors, but he has a try to his name, too.

45.00: The Blues botch an overlap because Black goes the wrong direction, however, they do get a penalty back near the halfway line.

46.00: Black kicks to the 22 as some drizzle begins to fall.

47.00: The Hurricanes are penalised at the ruck, Ardie Savea is the guilty party. Scrum.

48.00: The Blues drive towards the line. Penalty. Jeff To’omaga-Allen collapsed the previous scrum. John Plumtree’s men have given away double the number of penalties (10 to five), this evening.

50.00: The scrum is reset. Black nocks on, but the hurricanes are again pinged for collapsing.

51.00: The referee reminds the Canes that they have conceded three penalties in quick succession.

52.00: NO TRY! TJ Perenara came around too early, the Blues think they’ve scored, but Prinsep knocked the ball out of Parson’s hands as he tried to dot down. Back for another scrum.

53.00: YELLOW CARD! It had to come. To’omaga-Allen popped up, his third infringement in five plays. The Blues have spent 6 minutes and four seconds inside the Hurricanes’ 22. The Canes only 2m 34s. Ross Geldenhuys is on for To’omaga-Allen. 7-14

54.00: UNBELIEVABLE! Lam goes to the flank, but that means Plumtree’s men are short in the backs. Perenara makes a nuisance of himself, attacking the ball and Nock. The ball is recovered, but the Hurricanes win a penalty at the following ruck. Sensational!

56.00: The Blues attack again, they have multiple penalty advantages for offsides.

57.00: A scuffle breaks out as tempers flare.

60.00: TRY! Dalton Papalii dots down in the corner, shrugging off defenders, after a sweeping counter-attack. TMO Ben Skeen cannot see a “clear and obvious” reason to chalk off the five-pointer. 12-14

61.00: MISS! Black’s kick is wide. 12-14

64.00: The Hurricanes did well while down to 14, despite conceding a try. They still lead. Twenty-seven per cent of this half has been played inside the Hurricanes 22.

66.00: Good defensive work from the Blues, winning the turnover after forcing the Hurricanes into a mistake.

67.00: TRY! Beauden Barrett you beauty! Augustine Pulu, on for nock, throws a poor pass into the hands off the All Blacks first-five. Barrett races 40 metres to score near the posts. The great man does it again. 12-19

69.00: MISS! Barrett takes his time with the kick but pushes an easy kick, wide. 12-19

70.00: Du’Plessis Kirifi is pinged for hands in the ruck. Black kicks to the 5m.

71.00: YELLOW CARD? No! Perenara is called over and warned; it’s 16 to seven against the visitors in the penalty count. Scrum, near the posts to the hosts.

74.00: the Hurricanes win a penalty, Jordie will take a shot.

75.00: PENALTY! He makes no mistake. 12-22
