The first match in Round 17 or the final round of the regular Super Rugby season is in Auckland where the Blues host the Waratahs.

The Blues kick off and the match is underway!

1.00: The Waratahs work the ball into the Blues half before the Blues turn the ball over and kick it back behind the Waratahs who have to start their attack all over again.

2.00: After a couple of phases the Waratahs kick the ball to the Blues who boot it back. The ball goes over the tryline so Bernard Foley dots it down for the 22 drop out.

3.00: The Blues press the Waratahs back in their 22. The Waratahs turn the ball over and run it out of their 22 but then get forced into touch.

5.00:Penalty from the ruck to the Waratahs. Foley kicks for touch.

6.00: The Waratahs are looking a lot stronger. They win the line out and run the ball to the Blues 22 but then give away a penalty. The Blues kick for touch.

8.00: The Blues win a line out, Kaino makes a break and the ball is chipped to the other side where Andrew Kellaway knocks it on.

11.00: The Waratahs jut about win the ball from a scrum on the 5m line. They do however win a penalty so Foley kicks for touch.

13.00:  After some broken play Nick Phipps chips the ball upfield, the Blues get back and take the ball into touch.

14.00: The Waratahs win a penalty from the line out. Foley chooses to kick for the corner even though they are in the Blues 22. Waratahs clearly want the bonus point.

15.00: The Waratahs win the line out but the ball goes dead 2m out. They do however get the scrum put in.

16.00: The Waratahs win a penalty from the scrum – which is a relief for the Tahs as Phipps had knocked on. They again choose the scrum.

19.00: The Waratahs get another scrum on the Blues 22. They have the advantage but win the ball and attack.

20.00; The Blues concede a penalty for a high tackle in front of the posts. A card must be close. The Waratahs again choose a scrum.

22.00: The Waratahs put the ball in and drive through the Blues scrum and they are awarded a penalty TRY!

22.00: Foley takes the conversion kick from in front and nails it. Waratahs lead.

25.00: The Waratahs make an error which hands the Blues a line out on the Waratahs 5m line. The Waratahs come away with the ball and clear it into touch.

26.00: The Blues go on the attack just outside the Waratahs 22. After a couple of phases Patrick Tuipulotu races through and scores in the corner. The TMO will be called in to review some potential foul play and then the Try. There is an altercation between Hooper and Pryor. Nothing comes of it so they move on to the try. It is awrded. TRY!

Piers Francis takes the conversion kick from out wide but he misses.

28.00: Penalty to the Blues inside the Waratahs half. Ihaia West finds the corner. Penalty count : Waratahs 6 Blues 3

29.00:  The Blues win the line out and set up the maul.

30.00: The Blues drive over the line and they are awarded a Penalty TRY for collapsing the maul.

31.00: Francis adds the conversion and the Blues lead.

33.00: The Waratahs run the ball on the half way line but the Blues knock it on. Possession is now even at 50% each.

36.00: The Waratahs go through 10 phases in the Blues half. On the 11th phase Matt Carraro knocks on but the referee was playing advantage so the Waratahs have a penalty. Foley kicks to the corner.

37.00: The Waratahs win the line out, form the maul but the ball goes dead and the Blues get the scrum put in.

38.00: The ball pops out on the Waratahs side and they attack 2m out. The Blues scramble in defence as the Waratahs go from side to side.

39.00: Dean Mumm is stopped just short. Israel Folau goes for the line but loses the ball.

It’s half time.

The half time score was Blues 12 Waratahs 7

The Waratahs kick off and the match is underway.

41.00: The Waratahs get the ball in the Blues half and run at the Blues. Michael Hooper gets into space but is stopped by Piers Francis. The Waratahs keep the ball alive.

42.00: Penalty to the Waratahs in front. They take the scrum.

45.00: The Waratahs are awarded a second penalty TRY from the scrum.

46.00: Foley adds the conversion and now the Waratahs lead.  Charlie Faumuina comes on for the Blues.

47.00: Melani Nanai almost gets through to score but the Waratahs stop the attack.

48.00: Nanai makes another break and Blues keep the attack going for an extended period and they change sides showing good hands. Piers Francis gets the ball about 10m out and he dodges his way to the line and scores. TRY!

50.00: Francis converts his try. Blues lead.

54.00: The Blues get some momentum on attack and get the ball to the Waratahs 22.

55.00: The Blues press forward through 8 phases and get a penalty advantage. The ball is lost so the Blues are called back for the penalty. Francis will have a shot at posts.

57.00: Francis nails the penalty and the Blues lead by 8.

59.00; Penalty in centrefield to the Blues. They kick for touch and the line out.

60.00: The Waratahs hit back. Israel Folau gets the ball and sidesteps two Blues players and races for the line and scores. TRY!

61.00: Foley takes the conversion kick and he nails it.

64.00: Ihaia West dabs the ball through and Melani Nanai gets to the ball and slices through the Waratahs to score. TRY!

Piers Francis adds the conversion.

67.00: The Blues almost get away again but George Moala loses the ball in the tackle. Knock on.

68.00 : Penalty to the Blues for offside/joining the ruck incorrectly. They kick for touch and the line out.

69.00: Penalty after the line out for the Blues. They kick it quick and chase.

71.00: The Waratahs catch the Blues offside and get a penalty. They take it quickly and Angus Ta’avao crashes over and scores.

72.00: Foley adds the conversion.

74.00: Piers Francis chips the ball ahead and Nanai chases but as he gets to the line the ball doesn’t bounce well and Kellaway kicks it into touch.

76.00: The Blues keep the ball alive in the Waratahs 22. They go from side to side and eventually a gap opens and George Moala slips through and scores. TRY!

77.00: Francis takes the conversion but misses. Waratahs still in bonus point territory.

79.00: The Blues almost get away to score in the corner but the final pass is forward.

80.00: The Waratahs win a scrum and run at the Blues.

81.00: The Waratahs keep the ball alive. After several phases the Blues get the ball and its kicked into touch.

The Blues win but the Waratahs are still alive.
