Western Force flanker Chris Alcock has agreed a move from Perth to Canberra where he will play Super Rugby for the Brumbies.
The Australian Rugby Union recently stepped in to help the Western Force but since that time a number of players have agreed to move away from the franchise and coach Michael Foley has been sacked.
Western Force scrumhalf Alby Mathewson was one of the first to be linked to another club and will move to France and play for Provence in the ProD2 Championship.
Brumbies flanker David Pocock will take a break from Super Rugby in 2017 but will return for the Canberra franchise in 2018 so Alcock will be seen as a replacement for Pocock.
Meanwhile Alcock’s Force team mate Kyle Godwin is also understood to be in talks to join the Brumbies next year.
The Canberra Times also reports that Reds back-rower Lolo Fakaosilea is also close to signing with the Canberra franchise who will this week lose prop Albert Anae who signed to play for Mitsubishi in the Japanese Top League.
