In the meantime, why not have a look at the match preview.

.00: PEEEEP! We are underway at GIO Stadium, Canberra.

.00: Cabous Eloff wins the visitors their first penalty of the night, which allows Matt To’omua to take a shot at goal.

.00: PENALTY! To’omua opens the scoring from in front. 0-3

.00: Richard Hardwick flips Connal McInerney, but the tackle is legal, Hardwick got down low, and hit the hooker at the knees. Good call by the officials.

.00: The Rebels are caught offside, giving Noah Lolesio a chance to level from in front.

.00: PENALTY! Lolesio levels. 3-3

.00: Melbourne wins another penalty from the kick-off after a Brumbies player is isolated at the following ruck. Superb restarts by To’omua.

.00: PENALTY! To’omua splits the uprights, Rebels lead. 3-6

.00: Nic White’s restart is out on the full, Melbourne opts for a free-kick tap-and-go from the centre circle. Nothing comes of the short-arm, scrum to the hosts. Connal McInerney is down after falling awkwardly trying to tackle Pone Faamausili.

.00: McInerney is carried off the field, he won’t be returning. The Brumbies attack out wide, but some good work at the ruck sees the visitors win the turnover followed by a penalty. To’omua cleared to the opposition’s half, where another Brumbies’ infringement gives the Rebels a chance to kick to the corner.

.00: Rebels knock-on from the driving maul; however, they are awarded another penalty. Referee Damon Murphy calls over Brumbies skipper Allan Alaalatoa and gives his team a warning. To’omua kicks to the corner.

.00: Superb defending at the breakdown by the home team, they manage to force the Rebels intom another mistake, and win the scrum for a knock-on.

.00: Another infringement, this time for offsides, will give Melbourne a chance to extend their lead.

.00: PENALTY! To’omua lands his third goal. 3-9

.00: The crowd cheers the decision to kick a kickable penalty to the corner.

.00: TRY! The Brumbies maul is stopped, but White spreads to Lolesio. The standoff puts in a little grubber for Len Ikitau, who latches onto the rolling ball to score. 8-9

.00: CONVERSION! Lolesio converts. 10-9

.00: A superb counter-ruck by the Brumbies forwards after losing their lineout comes to nothing because the visitors regain possession and clear. However, the hosts win back the ball and attack near the goal-line, and clear after a Nic White knock-on.  It’s a scrappy game, but entertaining.

.00: BIG SCRUM by the Brumbies, who won the penalty. Banks kicks to the corner; however, the ball is overthrown. The Rebels clear, but the home team run the ball back into the 22 and mount an attack.

.00: Slow ball for the Brumbies sees them get knocked backwards. After 12 phases, White decides to kick a grubber into touch, five metres out. Superb defending by the Rebels.

.00: Melbourne lose their lineout, the Brumbies attack, Lolesio goes close but is hit back. Scott Sio takes the ball towards the line, but Joe Powell saves the day. Scrum to the Brumbies, though.

.00: Irae Simone loses the ball in contact. Another chance goes begging. Dan McKellar’s men are a little off their game, especially making too many mistakes inside the opposition’s 22.

.00: Another botched lineout set-piece from the Rebels gives the Brumbies possession near the Melbourne 22.

.00: Tom Banks boots the scrum-penalty to the corner, the Brumbies want to strike before the break.

.00: A poor throw by Lachlan Lonergan allows the Rebels a reprieve. The visitors race their way into the home team’s 22 and have their hosts under the pump. Maybe the ACT side should start taking the points.

.00: The hooter sounds, the Rebels go wide. Nothing comes from the attack, but we have a TMO review of Allan Alaalatoa’s tackle on Pone Faamausili. It looks like a red card for a hit to the head by the captain’s shoulder.

.00: RED CARD! Alaalatoa’s tackle is reckless. The skipper is sent off. Faamausili stayed down for a while before walking off on his own accord. 10-9

.00: PENALTY! To’omua puts his side in front at the interval. 10-12

The halftime score was Brumbies 10 Melbourne Rebels 12

.00: Marika Koroibete takes a quick-tap penalty and races away; however, the referee calls him back because he took the tap in front of the mark.

.00: To’omua calls for the tee after another infringement near the Brumbies’ 22.

.00: PENALTY! The standoff is on fire. 17-18

.00: The Brumbies are their own worst enemies, they are making too many mistakes, conceding too many penalties, and the Rebels are making them pay.

.00: It’s all Rebels at the minute, they are dominating their opponents. The referee has to speak to the stand-in skipper, giving a final warning.

.00: The Brumbies keep the Rebels out, but the restart doesn’t travel five metres; the Rebels go again with a quick-tap free-kick and are camped on the opposition’s line.

.00: YELLOW CARD! Andy Muirhead is off for a repeat infringement. 17-18

.00: PENALTY! To’omua extends the lead to four. 17-21

.00: To’omua calls for the tee, looking to level at the end.

.00: PENALTY! He does it again, eight from eight tonight. 24-24

.00: Oh, dear! The Rebels botch a sure try with some poor passing and catching down the left-hand touchline.

.00: Penalty to the Brumbies, who will kick the ball out for one last play in regulation.

.00: Richard Hardwick strays offside after a long, sustained Brumbies attack. Lonergan wants to take a shot from distance. OH, BOY! This is big time.

.00: PENALTY! WoW! he did it – Lonergan slots the 50+metre kick. Cue scenes. The players mob the standoff, who is at the bottom of the pile. Sensational. 27-24
