Momentum is building ahead of the HSBC Waratahs first home appearance of the 2007 Super 14 season, with tickets to all seven Aussie Stadium matches going on sale on Wednesday at 9am.

Blockbuster clashes against the Crusaders, Reds and Western Force are the headline acts of a bumper schedule which also features the Bulls and Stormers from South Africa and the Chiefs and Highlanders of New Zealand.

“2007 will be a massive year for fans of the HSBC Waratahs,” NSWRU Chief Executive Fraser Neill said.

“We’ve got seven thrilling home matches, a bigger stadium and an exciting new look team.

“Fans will be closer to the action than ever before and the new capacity of Aussie Stadium is sure to make the atmosphere more inspiring for the Waratahs and more imposing for the opposition.”

HSBC Waratahs captain Phil Waugh says the team is determined to head into the first home game of the season, against the Force on March 2, undefeated.

“We’ve got one win under the belt in South Africa and our aim is to win two more before we come home,” Waugh said from the team hotel in Durban.

“The team has been receiving great support, even at this early stage, and we’re focused on giving our supporters plenty to cheer about.

“We want to have momentum behind us for when we take on the Force in week five and one way to do that is to play well while we’re over here.”

An exclusive pre-release sale to MyTicketek members saw more than 3,300 tickets go on Friday, the largest one day sale in NSW Rugby history.

Excellent seats are available across all categories, with prices starting at $35 for adults, $27 concession, $19 junior and $91 family.

Memberships are also still available, while the “Take a Kid to Rugby” promotion will continue for the first three home games of the season.
