Derrick Hougaard kicked four penalties and two conversions Saturday to help the Bulls to a 26-17 win over the Waratahs in the Super 14.

Each team scored two tries, all in a 12-minute burst midway through the second half.

Center J.P. Nel and Springbok winger Bryan Habana converted the Bulls’ domination of territory and possession into points with that pushed the Bulls into a 26-3 lead after they had led 12-3 at halftime.

But the Waratahs responded with two tries within two minutes.

Flanker Rocky Elsom dived over a ruck on the line after a sustained attack looked as if it might peter out, and fullback Sam Norton-Knight then burst through the middle from the kickoff and fed Peter Hewat, who ran 60 meters for the try.
