Bulls name team for Blues

Bulls Coach Heyneke Meyer has announced his team to face the Blues in Auckland this weekend. The Bulls were nearly turned over last week against the Force and they will need to make better decisions against the Blues.

Meyer has rested du Preez and Olivier for this match and said, “Both Fourie du Preez and Wynand Olivier have played almost full games for the entire first part of the season and deserve breaks. I have promised Heinie a start and this will be his chance to get into the game from the start. Dries has also had good performances with the Vodacom Cup side and deserves to make the step-up.”

“Danie Rossouw has done brilliant work for us every time he has come on and he definitely deserves to start a game.” he added

“John Mametsa has joined the team and he is looking forward to fall in with the team. He is replacing Danwel Demas, who has undergone an operation on his fractured cheekbone and is only allowed to fly back on Saturday.”

We have been enjoying some warm weather, and the practice sessions have really been good. Everyone is in high spirits and with only the captain’s practice left, our preparations have really gone well. We have been fortunate that everyone is fit and healthy.

Commenting on the upcoming match against the Blues he said, “The Blues are under immense pressure from the media due to their performances so far. They have been criticised the way the Bulls have a few seasons ago and this will make them very dangerous on Friday. We definitely expect a strong onslaught.”
