Springbok flanker Schalk Burger has insisted that he is not interested in moving from Cape Town South Africa in order to play for English Club Saracens.

The Stormers player has reportedly been contacted by Saracens new coach Brendan Venter to discuss Burger joining him at Guinness Premiership club.

Burger however says that he is not interested in the move as it may put his place in the Springboks side in jeopardy.

“I am with the Stormers until the end of the year,” he told Die Burger newspaper.

“I want to play my rugby here. There are big Tests coming up against the British and Irish Lions, as well as a Tri-Nations

“I would like to play in South Africa and for the Springboks for as long as possible. If I want to do that, I probably can’t go overseas.”

Saracens told a large number of their players to look for other clubs as it is rumoured that they want to sign a number of SOuth African players.

Jean de Villiers, Schalk Brits, Conrad Jantjes, Ethienne Reynecke and Anton van Zyl are among those thought to have also been approached.
