Chiefs co-captain Sam Cane said that some soul-searching had been behind the Hamilton based Super Rugby franchise’s victory over the Rebels.
The Chiefs were beaten by the Highlanders before their bye last weekend but bounced back by beating the Rebels 36-15 with a bonus point.
Can says that over the bye weekend the team had some honest conversations and soul searching and the result was a fresher and more focused side.
“The way we started the game, the first 30 minutes were urgent,” explained Cane after the match.
“We were a lot more clinical than we had been in the last couple of weeks.”
“The disappointing part was we did not show that for the whole 80,” added Cane.
The Chiefs travel to Sydney next week as they face the Waratahs before breaking for the June Internationals.
