All Blacks & Crusaders first five-eighth Daniel Carter will come off the bench against the Queensland Reds in Saturday’s Super 14 rugby match in Brisbane.

The test playmaker will play his first match for the table-topping Crusaders in six weeks following an ankle injury according to NZPA.

Carter has not played since badly spraining his ankle against the Hurricanes on March 28.

Coach Robbie Deans will announce his team tomorrow before flying to Brisbane but it’s understood the 26-year-old will be named as a reserve.

Understudy Stephen Brett will retain the No 10 jersey ahead of the in-demand Carter who is being chased by several European clubs.
