Cheetahs loose forward Boom Prinsloo will miss the rest of the Super Rugby season after suffering an injury last week.
Prinsloo suffered the injury playing against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld which led to him having surgery on the injury earlier this week on Tuesday.
According to Netwerk24 Prinsloo tore his hamstring completely off the bone and had to have surgery to anchor the muscle back to the bone.
Twenty-seven-year-old Prinsloo says that he is in a lot of pain from the injury.
“I’m wearing a brace to keep the hamstring in place and will be bed-ridden for the next six weeks,” said Prinsloo.
The Cheetahs have this weekend off and they return next week in Round 8 on April 15 with a match at home in Bloemfontein against the Sunwolves.
In Round 3 the Cheetahs beat the Sunwolves 31-32 in Singapore.
