Cheetahs make changes for Lions

Free State coach Naka Drotske has included Sevens Springbok and national Under-20 captain Robert Ebersohn in the side to play the Golden Lions in a Currie Cup match in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Jongi Nokwe, dropped from the Springbok squad, has also been recalled and in a third change Gerrie Odendaal makes way for Tertius Carse at scrumhalf.

Former Sevens Bok Nokwe replaces Sevens Bok Lionel Mapoe , who with Ebersohn was a hero of this year’s Sevens team that won the IRB Sevens Series title for the first time.

Danwel Demas and replacement Kabamba Floors are also former Sevens Springboks.

The Free State team is:

Hennie Daniller, Danwel Demas, Corné Uys, Robert Ebersohn, Jongi Nokwe, Jacques-Louis Potgieter, Tertius Carse, Francois Uys, Hendro Scholtz (capt.), Johan Wessels, David de Villiers, Nico Breedt, WP Nel, Adriaan Strauss, Wian du Preez.

Replacements: Richardt Strauss, Coenie Oosthuizen, Frans Viljoen, Kabamba Floors, Gerrie Odendaal, Lionel Cronjé, JW Jonker.
