The Chiefs are looking very good at the moment. They outplayed the Crusaders convincingly after coming off the bye and this week they face Australian strugglers the Reds.

5.00. The Chiefs were the first to score in the match as Stephen Donald kicked the ball up and tapped it forward but catching it before it became a  knock on and then ran in to score the try. With that he became the leading points scorer for the Super 14 so far.

 

6.00: He converted his own  try.  

 

10.00: Lelia Masaga got the ball at pace down the wing and ran in the Chiefs second try.

 

10.00: Stephen Donald the converted the try.

 

13.00: The Reds got on the board finally as Berrick Barnes slotted a surprise drop goal.

 

23.00: The Reds use the grubber kick to get behind the Chiefs defence but the ball gets to the line first.

 

27.00: The Chiefs get a penalty so Stephen Donald takes the kcik and slots it.

 

33.00: The Reds press hard at the Chiefs line but come up short and give away a penalty. The Chiefs clear.

 

35.00: Lelia Masaga is taken out late by Clinton Schifcofske who sin-binned with a yellow card in return.

 

36.00: Lelia Masaga wasnt badly injured in the tackle because his next move is to score a try in the corner. The replay shows that his hand touches the line at the same time as he dots the ball down. The Tv ref says that the try can be awarded.

 

The Chiefs are now in the hunt for the bonus point try.

 

37.00: Stephen Donald converts the try.

 

40.16: The siren goes for half time. The Reds boot the ball out.

The second half is underway.

 

43.00: The Reds come out firing and score a try as Morgan Turinui flies over the line. The TV ref agrees.

 

44.00: As Schifcosfske is in the bin Berrick Barnes takes the conversion but misses.

 

48.00: The Reds continue their charge back into match as Clinton Schifcofske breaks and passes to Digby Ioane scores in the corner.

 

49.00: Clinton Schifcofske misses the conversion.

 

52.00: The Reds are playing out of their skins as Morgan Turinui scores his second try. Great team try.

 

The Reds are now in the hunt for the bonus point try.

 

53.00: Clinton Schifcofske slots the conversion to make it 17 unanswered points in 13 minutes.

 

56.00: The Chiefs try to slwo the game down a little as it’s getting away from them and the Reds give away a penalty. Stephen Donald takes it and slots it.

 

63.00: Jamie Nutbrown opens up the reds defence and almost breaks through all the way to score but drops the ball.

 

68.00: The Reds are on attack and Sione Lauaki gets an intercept pass and breaks through a Schifcofske tackle to score the try.

 

69.00: Stephen Donald misses the conversion.

 

72.00: The Reds work the ball up to the line and drive over the line but the TV ref says the video is too inconclusive so a 5m scrum is called.

 

79.00: The Chiefs get the overlap on the far side but the pass is poor and the try goes begging.
